Able to effectively advocate for students.
Strong communication skills - verbal and written.
Skills in listening and asking appropriate questions; an awareness of others' reactions and an ability to adjust actions accordingly.
Skilled in identifying the nature of problems; developing approaches for implementing an idea or solution to a problem; and in evaluating the success of an idea in relation to the demands of the situation.
Knowledge of various computer software, Ellucian/Colleague or Banner type CRM systems, Microsoft Office 365, Adobe PDF, and Blackboard Learn.
Minimum of three years experience in student advisement, counseling, admission, or registration services at an institution of higher education; community college preferred.
Experience working with diverse student populations (first-generation, adults, veterans, and/or underserved).
A Master's Degree in Student Personnel Services, Counseling, or Higher Education required.
